Terms of Service

Clear operating terms: platform, data, and responsibility.

These terms explain how Quanrel is used, where responsibilities sit, and how the service is governed.

Last updated: March 1, 2025
Please read these terms carefully. By using Quanrel you agree to be bound by them. If you are using Quanrel on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Quanrel platform and services ("Service") provided by Quanrel ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time, and we will notify you of material changes.

2. Service description

Quanrel is a web analytics platform that helps website operators identify conversion blockers by tracking how users interact with forms and page elements. The Service consists of:

  • A lightweight JavaScript tracker that you install on your website
  • A hosted dashboard where you can view insights derived from tracker data
  • An API for programmatic access to your data

The Service is provided on a subscription basis. Features available to you depend on your selected plan.

3. Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3.2 Accurate information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated. Providing false information is grounds for immediate account termination.

3.3 Account security

You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account or any other security breach. We will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised use of your account that occurred before you notified us.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Collect personal data from visitors without proper notice and consent, as required by applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Install the tracker on websites you do not own or have permission to instrument
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of any part of the Service
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or excessively access the Service in ways that degrade performance for other users
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice, at our sole discretion.

5. Payment & billing

5.1 Subscription fees

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are in USD and are non-refundable except as described in our 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers.

5.2 Free trial

Paid plans may begin with a 14-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be billed for the first billing period.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date.

5.4 Price changes

We may change our pricing with 30 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect.

6. Intellectual property

The Quanrel platform, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

You retain all rights to your website, its content, and the data your visitors generate. You grant us a limited licence to process that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. Your data

You own your data. We act as a data processor on your behalf and handle all data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

You are responsible for ensuring you have appropriate legal basis to collect and process visitor interaction data through Quanrel, including updating your website's privacy policy and cookie notice where required.

Upon account termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days. You may export your data at any time from the dashboard.

8. Security responsibilities

We implement industry-standard security practices including encrypted data transmission, hashed password storage, session management controls, and rate limiting. However, security is a shared responsibility. You agree to:

  • Use a strong, unique password for your Quanrel account
  • Protect your API keys and not expose them in public repositories or client-side code beyond the intended tracker script
  • Report any suspected security vulnerabilities to security@quanrel.com

9. Availability & SLA

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance, third-party infrastructure issues, and events outside our control may cause temporary interruptions.

Business plan customers are entitled to the service availability targets specified in their plan documentation. Starter and Pro plan users receive commercially reasonable efforts with no formal SLA.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE INSIGHTS PROVIDED WILL RESULT IN IMPROVED CONVERSION RATES.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, QUANREL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting your account from the settings page.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or if we are required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect, by email or by a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
